"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild", desarrollado por Nintendo, ganó este jueves el premio al mejor videojuego del año en la gala The Game Awards celebrada en Los Ángeles (Estados Unidos).

Este juego, decimoctava entrega de la serie "The Legend of Zelda", competía en la categoría de mejor videojuego con "Horizon Zero Dawn" (Guerrilla Games), "Persona 5" (Atlus PlayerUnknown's), "Battlegrounds" (PUBG Corporation) y "Super Mario Odyssey" (Nintendo).

"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" también obtuvo los premios en las categorías de mejor dirección (entregado por Guillermo del Toro) y de mejor videojuego de acción y/o aventura.

"What Remains of Edith Finch", de Giant Sparrow, ganó el premio a la mejor narrativa; "Injustice 2" (NetherRealm Studios) ganó el de mejor videojuego de lucha; y "Forza Motorsport 7" (Turn 10 Studios) se alzó con el de mejor videojuego de conducción y/o deportes.

En la categoría de mejor juego familiar ganó "Super Mario Odyssey"; el mejor videojuego para celular fue "Monument Valley 2" (ustwo games"; y el mejor videojuego multijugador "Fortnite", de Epic Games.

La de este jueves fue la cuarta edición de los The Game Awards, herederos de los Spike Video Game Awards (2003-2013), que también premiaban en diferentes categorías a los mejores videojuegos del año.
