Fueron rescatados durante una redada antidrogas hace 15 años. Actualmente viven en el estado de Georgia, en EE.UU.
En el 2001, luego de un operativo antidrogas realizado en la ciudad de Atlanta, en Georgia, EE.UU., se encontró en un sótano a tres animales de pocos meses de edad: un oso, un león y un tigre.
Los animales estaban "asustados, desnutridos", y llenos de parásitos, tanto en partes internas como externas de su cuerpo. Los tres fueron trasladados al santuario de animales "El arca de Noé", ubicado en el mismo estado donde habían sido encontrados.
De eso pasaron ya 15 años. Actualmente, Leo, Baloo y Shere Khan, como fueron llamados por los funcionarios del lugar, están en perfecto estado de salud y nunca se separan.

En el santuario se conoce al trío como "The BLT": Bear (oso), lion (león) y tiger (tigre).
Shere Khan (se llama igual que el tigre de "El libro de la selva"), señalan en la página web del santuario, es el más travieso de los tres y constantemente busca afecto, "numerosas veces durante el día se frota la cabeza" al cuerpo de "sus hermanos".
El oso Baloo (otro personaje de las historias del Nobel de Literatura Rudyard Kipling) era el que se encontraba en peores condiciones y tuvo que ser operado al llegar.

Please know that the BLT are not going away, we are just trying to become more efficient as a growing sanctuary, and are needing our extra manpower to work in other areas, such as our new VIP program, that has the potential to grow versus this Facebook page that has constantly declining numbers of post views. En 15 años solamente hubo una pelea entre estos animales, algo que sin embargo es bastante normal entre animales de especies consideradas "inofensivas" o incluso de una misma especie.
