ONU y OEA instan a Ariel Henry a intentar formar gobierno en Haití

TRAS ASESINATO DE PRESIDENTE

Desde el asesinato de Jovenel Moise, tres políticos se disputan el poder: Claude Joseph, Ariel Henry y Joseph Lambert.

Los representantes de Naciones Unidas y la Organización de Estados Americanos (OEA) en Haití y el Core Group, instaron ayer sábado a tratar de formar gobierno a Ariel Henry, primer ministro designado por el presidente Jovenel Moise antes de su asesinato.

Henry fue nombrado el 5 de julio, pero no llegó a ser investido en el cargo antes del magnicidio, ocurrido dos días después, y desde entonces se ha mantenido en el poder su antecesor, el primer ministro interino Claude Joseph, quien inicialmente recibió respaldo internacional.

El comunicado del Core Group expresa el deseo de que “todos los actores políticos, económicos y de la sociedad civil del país apoyen plenamente a las autoridades” en la organización de elecciones “libres, justas, transparentes y creíbles lo antes posible” y en el restablecimiento de la seguridad.

El Core Group está integrado por los representantes en Haití de Naciones Unidas y la OEA, así como por los embajadores de Estados Unidos, Alemania, Brasil, Canadá, España y la Unión Europea.

Desde la muerte de Moise, tres políticos se disputan el poder: Claude Joseph, Ariel Henry y el presidente del Senado, Joseph Lambert, aunque ninguno de ellos tiene legitimidad plena.
